Pizza Hut Review

Pizza Hut

I go to Pizza Hut probably about 2 or 3 times a year, usually when I am out shopping and am looking for somewhere to eat. Although I do love the taste of the Pizza’s in Pizza Hut, it is is not the restaurant I would choose for a special occasion. I have been to Pizza Hut, however, for birthdays a few times over the years because I knew that the children, and now the grandchildren, would choose to go.

Food

I do like Pizza Hut. Wherever you go you get the same menu, the same lovely food made to the same high standard. You know what to expect. Whether it is a medium pizza for myself or share a large one, there are plenty to choose from on the menu or you can get a make your own pizza. Not sure why they call it that, you tell them what you want and somebody else makes it.

There is free salad. Not sure why anybody would choose salad at a Pizza restaurant but each to their own.

Always looking for a bargain, if I get there early enough, I choose the buffet meal. The buffet meal, or as I call it, the eat as much as you can meal, is such a bargain. You can eat so much at lunch time that you do not need to eat in the evening. 2 meals for the price of 1. Fantastic.

To get the buffet meal you have to eat before 3pm. It costs £7.95 with another £2.99 for unlimited soft drinks. £10.94 for a meal is good value but when you don’t need to eat again that day then it’s a real bargain.

The last time that I went to Pizza Hut it was in the Trafford Centre. On the buffet was Margarita, Classic Chicken, Hawaiian, Pepperoni, BBQ Meat, and Garlic Bread. For Vegetarians there was Simply Veg, Veggie Hot, and Vegtastic. Well I suppose carnivores can eat the veggie meals as well.

Occasionally, at the Aintree restaurant, I have found the choice of Pizza in the buffet to be a bit limited. I always have a look at what’s on offer and how much is available in the buffet before deciding to have the buffet meal.

Restaurants

I have been to five Pizza Huts although I am only going to review 4 of them because one has now closed down.

The Pizza Hut at the Trafford Centre Manchester has to be my favourite. There is what Pizza Hut calls “the outside” and “the inside” although “the outside” is still indoors. I always choose “the outside” because although it is indoors it feels like you are sitting in a pedestrianised street (hope you followed that). Surprising for how busy it can get, the Trafford Centre is always nice and clean. Tables are usually cleared very quickly after customers have left. It is nice to sit and watch the world go by, pretending you are somewhere exotic. On the occasions that I have been, the staff have always been very friendly and attentive.

The Pizza Hut at Ocean Plaza Southport is my next favourite. I have found the staff to be just as friendly and attentive as the Trafford Centre. The restaurant is always clean. It is not the fault of the staff but from a visual perspective, the Ocean Plaza is not the Trafford Centre.

The Pizza Hut Middlesbrough Leisure Park (I know, it is a long way to go but I have family that live near there) and Pizza Hut Aintree Racecourse & Business Park have similar issues. The tables feel too close together and there is often a lot of noise. The staff are not as attentive as the other two Pizza Huts. I am not sure if the problem is because they appear to employ mainly students or because the staff seem to have to cover more tables. It could be both.

The Pizza Hut App

The Pizza Hut app is well worth downloading. For every £10 you spend, a slice is added to the rewards in the app. The more slices you have the bigger the reward. When you have collected five slices you can exchange them for a free side; seven slices can be exchanged for a free medium pizza; and ten slices can be exchanged for a free large Pizza.
